So, I voted yesterday...

Yesterday was the first time I voted in South Africa.
I did it because I would like to talk about my country's situation and know that at least I did vote for change.

I didn't have any conflict in my mind about who I would vote for. As far as I am concerned, there was only really one option if I wanted to see some sort of change in this country.

Now, I know I might come across as some bitter woman who hates the country she lives in, but this is not the case. I actually wish I could be more proud to be South African- this is why I voted.

In all honesty, I am not sure what to believe of what any politician says. It's always been said that all politician's care about is winning the elections and that they don't really care about what happens after that. I didn't just believe what I was told because I am someone who likes to form her own opinion about things. And going by what I've seen lately, I just can't believe what the ANC says anymore.

Now, I am not saying that I can do a better job or that I know anything about running a country. It must be a tough job, but something I can say is that I would take it seriously, and only run for president if I were passionate about moving my nation forward, and presently, I don't think that that is the case.

I just want a country that I can be proud of- not one where the President has fraud and rape cases lying around in a file somewhere, or a leader who is owing SARS millions.
I'm not saying that we will jump to a first-class country... I guess I just wish that we could give someone else a chance to prove their worth.
Clearly we've seen that the powers we've put in charge don't know what to do with it.

Well, I've made my mark. Let's see what happens in South Africa's next chapter.
GOD BLESS AFRICA!
